New Online Marketing Regulation

As from the 1st March 2011 the ASA will oversee the content of online advertising including webpage content and advertising on 3rd party websites such as Google (AdWords), Facebook and Twitter. From the 1st March online marketing will need to follow the non-broadcast advertising rules set out in the CAP Code

From the 1st Feb to support the new regulations the ASA is providing agencies such as www.getextra.co.uk a range of tools to test the compliance of your website and online activity. As internet marketing specialists Getextra.co.uk will be adding the compliance recommendations to our “How Clean is your Website” report showing ASA compliance along with a W3C report.

Getextra.co.uk see the extension of ASA remit to incorporate the digital world as a necessity within the growing dominance of online marketing and will help clean up misleading tactics of some advertisers regarding price comparisons and levels of service.
